Dr. Neilson Tran, a southeast Louisiana native, is an Interventional Pain Medicine specialist with a reputation for excellence in the field. As a physician with extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex disorders of the spine, nerves, and joints, Dr. Tran has dedicated his professional life to providing unparalleled patient care to the residents of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, and he is excited to bring the latest techniques and advances in pain medicine to his new home with Paradigm Health System.

A graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, Dr. Tran earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Upon graduation, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and went on to further his education by completing the esteemed Pain Management fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed their innovative Pain Medicine Fellowship with a particular focus on multidisciplinary medicine, and he is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Tran’s professional interests are varied. Clinical pursuits include treatment of Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, Herniated Discs, Chronic Post-Surgical Pain, Postherpetic Neuralgia/Shingles, Diabetic Nerve Pain, Trigeminal Neuralgia and a variety of other conditions that cause decreased functionality. Dr. Tran is trained in the most advanced technologies and treatments for acute and chronic pain conditions, such as Neurostimulation, Radiofrequency therapies, Vertebral augmentation, and the latest techniques in interventional pain medicine. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to develop treatment plans designed specifically for each patient, Dr. Tran breaks the mold of the traditional physician with his down-to-earth personality and his talent for explaining complex medical conditions in everyday terms.
