Now Welcoming Dr. Joseph Lockwood, Neurosurgeon

Paradigm Health System is honored to welcome Dr. Joseph Lockwood, a distinguished fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with exceptional expertise in skull base and cerebrovascular surgery. Dr. Lockwood joins our expanding team while remaining an active faculty member and employee of Tulane University School of Medicine, where he serves as Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery. This collaborative arrangement allows him to bring the academic excellence and research-driven innovation of Tulane directly into the personalized, patient-centered environment of Paradigm. His arrival marks a transformative milestone in our ongoing mission to provide world-class neurosurgical expertise and advanced treatment options to our community.

Dr. Lockwood earned his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and holds a Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. He graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry. He completed his rigorous Neurosurgery Residency through the esteemed Tulane University/Ochsner Clinic Foundation and pursued advanced Fellowship and Clinical Instructorship in Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Lockwood has published extensively in prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals, with research focusing on skull base anatomy, cerebrovascular innovation, and advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques. His scholarly work contributes significantly to the advancement of neurosurgical knowledge and practice. He maintains active membership in the most distinguished neurosurgical organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), North American Skull Base Society (NASBS), and the Louisiana Neurosurgical Society (LANS).
