Paradigm Health Welcomes Dr. Alexander J. Fontenot, Interventional Pain Specialist!
Dr. Alexander Fontenot is a board-certified Interventional Pain Specialist and Anesthesiologist from Eunice, Louisiana. He has a reputation for breaking the mold of the traditional physician with his down-to-earth personality and ability to explain complex medical conditions in everyday terms, making him highly approachable.
Dr. Fontenot completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. He then obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During medical school, he was actively involved in leadership roles, such as serving as the activity chairman for Camp Tiger, a summer camp for children with special needs, and participating in medical mission trips to Haiti.
After medical school, Dr. Fontenot completed his residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Throughout his training, he engaged in clinical research, presenting his work at regional and national conferences, and co-authored a book chapter on Intercostal Nerve Blocks. His clinical interests include sciatica, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and chronic post-surgical pain.
Dr. Fontenot’s approach to pain management is multimodal, incorporating physical therapy, home exercise, medication, and minimally invasive outpatient interventions. His goal is to enhance patients' quality of life by effectively managing and alleviating pain.
