Dr. Jonathan Schouest, a native of south Louisiana, is a Rheumatology Specialist with a reputation for excellence in the field. A physician with extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex rheumatic disorders, Dr. Schouest has dedicated his professional life to providing unparalleled patient care and is excited to bring the latest advances in rheumatology to treat the residents of southeast Louisiana.

A graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Dr. Schouest earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Upon graduation, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at LSU University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette. For Fellowship, he attended New York University’s esteemed Rheumatology Program at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island in Mineola, New York, completing their innovative program with a particular focus on systemic autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Schouest’s professional interests are varied. Clinical pursuits include the treatments of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Vasculitis, Sjögren's Syndrome, Gout, Psoriatic Arthritis, Bursitis, Scleroderma, and a variety of other disorders. He is trained in the most advanced techniques to properly diagnose and treat complex rheumatic conditions and is particularly adept at utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to develop treatment plans designed specifically for each patient. Known for his relaxed bedside manner, Dr. Schouest breaks the mold of the traditional physician with his down-to-earth personality and talent for explaining complex medical conditions in everyday terms.

Dr. Schouest is Board Eligible in Rheumatology by the American College of Rheumatology. Professional affiliations include the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the Rheumatology Alliance of Louisiana.
